Virgin…..dont take the piss. These equally faceless bastards are as bad as it gets. They claimed to be doing an update in my locality, with just a short down time of under 30 mins, on 15TH December 2011. The upshot is that after seven days I still have no interet, and do they give a damn? In short, you can scream and shout at them, go for customer service, threaten them with the broadband ombudsman, and you still get nowhere. Hidden behind their corporate cloak of money grabbing they will do exactly as little as possible to rectify their problems. I wonder if Richard Branson recognises just how much damage is being done to his brand name…or does he even care?

Hi there,
I just found your blog googling bbc arabic assessment, as I’ve got one in a couple of weeks and I was just wondering what exactly they asked of you when you were there? Was just a language test (just MSA or also aamiya?) or did they have something like verbal reasoning tests as well?
Any information is massively appreciated!

“Ghosting” is also moving problematic prisoners from one prison to another so they don’t cause trouble. Or a game that consists in following somebody very close but without being noticed. Or when you die in a multiplayer game but don’t restart so you can see without being seeing and tell your mates where your enemies are. Or obviously stuff involving sex and drugs as usual… :-p

I now know that ‘ghosting’ was when British Rail Foreman would fix the number of people working on any particular day. So say a particular job needed 10 guys, the foreman could put down that 12 worked that day (when only 10 did) and then the foreman, the ghosters and those who were in on it would share the extra salaries! The guys who weren’t actually working were said to be ‘ghosts’…

Managed to get a picture of it the last time I went to Edinburgh. There are like dozens of definitions of what “ghosting” is on Urban Dictionary. All plausible…
